So many readers have already been charmed by 100 lies of Lizzy Lovett, I among them. This is the kind of book that will have you thinking for weeks after you have finished it. It covers some psychological issues and it is general a dark book. I recommend it as a young adult or high school level book, certainly not for the Middle schoolers. There is mean girls, love, family drama and hippies, its a little bit of everything for anyone. This book is special and I will recommend it to my daughter, i think you should too (when you have one and she’s old enough).
I rather liked Hawthorne, the main character, with all her quirks and unique point of view. One might say she was a bit strange. She really just wants to keep her head down and survive her senior year. This book is not really a book about Lizzy Lovett, but rather Hawthorne’s obsession with her after she has gone missing. I suppose the 100 lies are all in Hawthorne’s head as she tries to search for the truth behind what happened to the girl that she envied and hated for years. Along the way she discovers somethings about herself that she had never even thought about before. By the end I would say that she has don a bit of growing up and maturing.
I still havnt completely digested this book yet and i am sure I will read it again. For rating purposes I give this 4.5 out of 5 stars!
