To be honest it was not what i had hoped for in a sequel to wicked. That said the story by itself is a good one, Liir’s story, the story about a boy becoming a man. On his journey from the orphaned boy found in the gutter, Liir is challenged physically and mentally, as grows into a hero. A hero from boy that throughout the book is suspected to be Elphaba’s son.
The very beginning is good, where he meets a Quirky young woman that ends up traveling with him on her own , and the last third of the book is great as you reach a climatic ending. The space in the middle is very slow paced and a bit dull. And the cliffhanger is a killer! So be sure to have A Lion Among Men lined up ready to read if you can’t stand cliffhangers!
